Rock formation in lukso-lukso being crashed by the waves

Baler, oh Baler. Where do I even begin? This small town located on the east coast of the Philippines is a hidden gem that packs a punch of fun and adventure.

First off, let's talk about the journey to Baler. It's a long, winding, and bumpy ride, but trust me, it's worth it. The views along the way are breathtaking, and you'll feel like you're on an episode of "The Amazing Race". Plus, the locals are so friendly and welcoming, they'll make you feel like you're part of the family.

Once you arrive in Baler, the first thing you'll notice is the laid-back, surf vibes that permeate the town. It's like you've stepped into a time machine and gone back to the 80s.

The main attraction in Baler is, of course, the surf. And let me tell you, the waves here are no joke. But don't worry, if you're a surfer wannabe like me, there are plenty of beginner-friendly spots to catch a wave or two. And if you're feeling brave, there's always the option to ride the infamous "Sabang Barrel" and hope to survive the experience.

But Baler isn't all about surfing. There's also plenty of hiking and adventure activities to keep you busy. You can take a trek to the famous "Mother Falls" or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of "Ditumabo Falls".

And let's not forget the food. The seafood in Baler is some of the freshest and most delicious you'll ever taste. From grilled squid to enseladang pako (a local delicacy), your taste buds will be doing the cha-cha.

So pack your bags, grab your surfboard (or boogie board, no judgment here) and head to Baler. You won't regret it. Just don't blame me if you never want to leave.
